Savor the present. Be grateful for all things. Remain curious while in the tension.

Rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

And the winner is…
Late afternoon Wednesday, I received an automated text from my online medical records informing me that the pathology results were back from my biopsies. The previous day, biopsies were taken from three locations that had previously been found to contain carcinoma cells for which I had undergone lifestyle changes, as well as immunotherapy treatments. The result of these labs displayed the following:

  1. Site One
    • Negative for in situ and invasive carcinoma.
  2. Site Two
    •  Negative for in situ and invasive carcinoma.
  3. Site Three
    •  Negative for in situ and invasive carcinoma.

As of the biopsy result, confirmed by my surgeon oncologist, I AM CARCINOMA-FREE!!!
The next two years will include follow-up maintenance rounds of immunotherapy—three weeks rather than six weeks—and regular exams to make sure I have this at bay.

On my own, I will continue with my new regime of diet and exercise to boost my immune system and ward off any possibility that the cancer can return.

Right now, I am pretty much beside myself with emotion, gratitude, and euphoria. Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive and encouraging. My biggest thanks go out to my wife and best friend Candace who not only led the way with HOURS and HOURS of reading and research but also joined me in undertaking the lifestyle changes necessary to ready my body for the immunotherapy. I cannot imagine having these results if not for her drive and passion.
