Savor the present. Be grateful for all things. Remain curious while in the tension.

Rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
~1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

The Time Has Come

It's Go Time!
Tomorrow, Candace and I will be going in early for my biopsy and to receive information and prognosis on future treatment depending upon whether the cancer has advanced, been held at bay, or been eliminated. Big day ahead of us.

I will share an update with everyone most likely on Wednesday or soon after (let's just see how the recovery process goes).

I started this path of my life journey with a commitment to beat this through active training—body, mind, spirit— and a rigorous regime of diet & exercise, information, and prayer. Regardless of the outcome, I am grateful for what has been accomplished through the process.
Since March 4—exactly 112 days—I have…
  • Developed a regular exercise routine
  • Gained considerable muscle mass and increased my physical strength
  • Lost more than 44 pounds of body fat
  • Reduced my waistline by 4 inches
  • Learned more about my genome and how to better take care of my body
  • Increased my overall energy; albeit not when on immunotherapy!
  • Developed a greater sense of gratitude
  • Learned to lean more into God
  • Grown more intimate with my wife
  • Found a peace in my life that did not exist before

This journey we are all on is one of uncertainty for what lies on the road we walk. I am thankful for all of those out there who have played a role in encouraging, praying, supporting, laughing, and challenging me to rise to this occasion and so many others I have encountered.

And to those of you who have discouraged, ignored, criticized, and been unsupportive of me throughout my life—including this cancer— I say also, Thank you. You have made me stronger, wiser, more gentle, and more appreciative of the beautiful things around me and within me.

God is good. I am not afraid.
Talk to you all soon!
