The Women in my Life
Most recently, my thoughts have been about the people in my life who have contributed impactful ingredients into the person I now am; whether it be wisdom, tenderness, kindness or guidance. As faces and memories danced in and out of my thoughts, I made an observation that I shared with Candace one evening when I got home: The larger body of influential persons in my life have been women.
As an example to her, I began listing friends and family members and the summaries of profound impact they made and how I am shaped as a man today.
“You should write about them and share your stories,” Candace said to me. Over the several days which have passed since we had this conversation, the thought of sharing these experiences has moved me more deeply to consider the sacredness of these stories and the reverence I have for these people whom God has brought into my life.
So, slowly but surely, I am going to write these stories. And what will follow will be as I remember them. I might miss some details, I might not have all of my facts completely in alignment with the actual events, and I may not even represent the heart or intentions of those whom I write. My goal is to pay homage to the goodness, beauty and power God brought into my world through incredible women.
